Implementing Shortcodes

Upon Installation PeepSo creates a number of pages with shortcodes inside to render its content. It’s a common practice in WordPress. Below is a list of default pages and shortcodes the page contains.

Shortcodes follow few specific rules. First and foremost they are tightly connected to PeepSo navigation. Meaning navigation in PeepSo toolbar and others will rely on the URL of the pages containing the shortcodes.

For example Profile page, as shown in the screenshot above contains [peepso_profile] shortcode. And if you notice the slug / URL is: https://addon.club/peepso-free/profile/

For example:

  • Create a page with slug: /profile/ and containing [peepso_profile] shortcode
  • Create another page with slug: /user/ and containing [peepso_profile] shortcode

The result is: both pages will show PeepSo profiles BUT navigation within PeepSo will point to the latest created (saved) page. So in this case /user/.

This example is for [peepso_profile] but it’s the exact same behavior for all of PeepSo shortcodes.

So if you’re having problems with navigation and it’s not pointing to where you want it to there are a few things you can try.

  • Delete all pages containing PeepSo shortcodes, empty the trash too, make sure they’re gone for good. Then deactvate and activate PeepSo. It will create new pages.
  • Go to each page containing PeepSo shortcodes, edit them one by one, make sure the slug is what you want it to be, save changes.

If your website is experiencing:

  • broken / malformed / strangely looking links
  • 404 messages
  • any other issues that seem related to page URLs

Go to Admin > Pages and find the page with a related PeepSo shortcode

1. Edit The Page.

2. Click update.

4. Check your site, It should be fixed the problem.

By popular demand we added settings for avatars in backend > PeepSo > Configuration > Advanced > Storage section

  • Avatar size
Bigger images use more storage, but will look better – especially on high resolution screens.
  • Avatar quality
Higher quality will use more storage, but the images will look better.
  • Cover width
Bigger images use more storage, but will look better – especially on high resolution screens.
  • Cover quality
Higher quality will use more storage, but the images will look better

That applies to both user profiles and group avatars. Only applies to newly uploaded images. So if you change the setting to the highest resolution one, old avatars won’t be affected. They need to be uploaded again.

To enable it go to Admin > PeepSo > Configuration > Appearance. Enable “Rounded Corners” and save your configuration. Now see your site. Now you have your PeepSo site template rounded.

To change the color theme on your PeepSo site, go to the backend of your site: PeepSo > Configuration > Appearance > PeepSo Style and pick the color from the available dropdown. There are light, blue, dark, green, orange, and red theme.

By Default all the list data taken with ajax use infinite loading to load it continuously after user scroll reached the bottom of the page. Sometimes we want to use a button to load more data rather than use infinite loading so user can control the data they want and to prevent massive data loaded after infinite loading kick in. To enable load more button feature go to Admin > PeepSo > Advanced > Performance

Enable “load more:” button
Disables infinite loading of activities, members lists etc until the users clicks the “load more” button.

Repeat “load more” button
By default all posts load in an “infinite scroll”. You can choose to have a specified batch of posts to loaded before showing the “load button” again.
